This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable skills, work in a supportive team, and make a real difference ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all facility users.
In this key position, you will supervise pool activities, ensure safety standards are maintained, and provide excellent customer service to all visitors.
  
You will work alongside a passionate team of Lifeguards, Senior Lifeguards, Duty Team Leaders and Aquatics staff who are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for all pool users. You will report to the Manager Aquatic Operations, with day-to-day operational support from Duty Team Leaders and Senior Lifeguards. Together, you'll help ensure our aquatic facilities operate safely and efficiently while creating positive experiences for our community.

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring

To excel in this role, you will have a passion for customer service, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to remain calm and confident in emergency situations. You will hold (or be willing to obtain and maintain) a current Poolside Lifeguard Qualification.
  
You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience in:
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and building positive relationships with a wide range of people.
    • Supervising and monitoring patrons in a recreational or aquatic environment.
    • Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Responding calmly and confidently to emergency situations and applying first aid principles.
    • Managing competing priorities and maintaining high standards of facility presentation.
    • Following health and safety procedures and promoting safe practices.
    • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
    • Working flexible rostered shifts, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
